About Pukka Chaat

Pukka Chaat is a playful explosion of texture and flavour. Crispy vegetable strings, airy puffed rice, sweet mango, tart green apple, and jewel-like pomegranate come together with vibrant, house-made mint and tamarind chutneys and cool, creamy yoghurt. Every forkful is a different mix, a hit of crunch here, a burst of sweet-tart fruit there, all tied together by tangy chaat masala and the freshest ingredients.

It arrives as a tall, colourful plate, as good to look at as it is delicious to eat. It makes a cool, refreshing starter, great on its own or paired with our spicy Chicken 65 or Punjabi Chicken Curry. Order it for delivery and the chutneys come on the side, so every bite stays crisp and bright by the time it reaches your door.

Why Pukka Chaat Is the Best Chaat in Toronto

A house chaat masala, ground fresh every day.

The heart of any great chaat is its spice blend. Ours is freshly ground in-house by our chefs daily, so every plate lands with bright, aromatic, perfectly balanced flavour rather than something out of a jar.

Lighter and fresher, without losing the spirit.

Many chaats are heavy and greasy from their fried elements. We reimagined ours to be fresher and more salad-like, built on puffed rice, fresh fruit, and yoghurt, while still honouring the classic street snack that inspired it.

Made in-house, start to finish.

The chutneys are made fresh in our kitchen, not bought in. That control over every component is what keeps the dish so vibrant and lets us adjust it for dietary needs.

A different bite every time.

Built and plated as a tall, colourful tower of textures, it gives you a new combination with every forkful, crunchy, soft, sweet, and tangy all at once.

A recipe with real roots.

Pukka Chaat is inspired by the version co-owner Harsh Chawla grew up with at his mother's table in Chandigarh, in northern India, the region where chaat culture runs deepest.

A local favourite, on the record.

Foodism Toronto singled out the our dish as the star of the table, savouring "big, bright blasts of flavour" with every bite. It is the kind of dish that amazes first-time guests and regulars alike.

More than a dish, an experience.

Pukka is a modern Indian restaurant on St. Clair West, and the warm service from our team is part of why guests keep coming back. Whether you drop in for a quick bite or settle in for the night, the chaat is the kind of starter people highly recommend to anyone hunting for great food in Toronto.

What makes Pukka Chaat unique?
